REIMBURSEMENT OF MEDICAL EXPENSES TOWARDS INVITRO FERTILISATION (IVF) IN CASE OF PRIMARY INFERTILITY UNDER EX-GRATIA MEDICAL ASSISTANCE SCHEME

We are pleased to inform that treatment for in Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) will be reimbursable under Ex-Gratia Medical Assistance Scheme, for workmen w.e.f. 01.07.1998, as per the guidelines given below:-

Reimbursement will be made in cases of primary Infertility i.e. there has been no conception by other methods of medical treatment. Full case history of all other treatments tried but not successful to be submitted alongwith the claim.

Reimbursements will be given to childless couples and that too only for the first child.

Reimbursement for IVF Treatment (Inclusive of medicines, day care, surgical procedures, etc. as per the schedule of rates applicable) will be upto a maximum limit of Rs. 45,000/- per cycle.

Reimbursement of IVF Treatment will be limited upto a maximum of 3 cycles.

Reimbursements for IVF Treatment based on the above guidelines will be effective from 01.07.1998.

2. Reimbursement will be given to childless couples and that too only for the child.

3. Schedule of rates for IVF treatment will be as under:-

· Total cost of IVF treatment (inclusive of medicines, day care, surgical procedures etc.) upto a maximum limit of Rs. 45,000/- per cycle.

· Reimbursement of IVF treatment will be limited upto a maximum of 3 cycles.

· Reimbursements for IVF treatment based on the above guidelines are effective from 1.4.1997.
